We invite you to the roundtable meeting “Multicultural European Cities” – online debate with the participation of:
- Karoline Gil – Deputy Head of Department/Head of Section at the IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) in Stuttgart, Germany.
- Mateusz Płoskonka – Deputy Director of the Municipal Health and Social Affairs Department, Krakow, Poland
- Elena Monicelli (tbc) Acting Director of Peace School Foundation of Monte Sole, Bolonia, Italy
- Dominika Kasprowicz – Associate Professor at the Jagiellonian University, Director of the Villa Decius, Cracow, Poland
Representatives of European city councils, managers and employees of cultural institutions, academics, private sector employees, activists and artists were invited to join the discussion. The debate will take the form of a roundtable meeting, where the guests can talk about the initiatives, events, and programs addressed to multicultural city communities. Another aim of the meeting is an exchange of experience and good practices. The goal of the meeting is to create opportunities for cooperation and integration between NGOs, foreigners, and residents of Krakow and other European cities.

Karoline Gil – Deputy Head of Department/ Head of Section at the IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) in Stuttgart, Germany.
Karoline Gil has a longstanding experience in intercultural dialogue and the creation of multinational networks with a profound interest for international relations. Since 2009, she has been an active member and regional coordinator of the Young German Council on Foreign Affairs. In current position, she is coordinating and supervising grant and support schemes in Central Eastern Europe and Russia. Studying European relations and socio-economic transformation, she co-edited books on the Treaty on good relations and neighborhood between Germany and Poland, on cross-border cooperation between both countries and on regional European Identities.
Mateusz Płoskonka – Deputy Director of the Municipal Health and Social Affairs Department, Krakow, Poland
specialist in the field of modern diplomacy in international relations. A scholarship holder of the International Visitor Leadership Program organized by the U.S. Department of State, municipal expert on social policy, with particular emphasis on cooperation with the third sector and implementation of the Open KRAKOW programme (since 2016) Certified auditor and manager in the field of cooperation with the third sector. Practitioner of participation, works to strengthen intersectoral dialogue. Responsible for the implementation of the participatory budget process and local initiative in Krakow.
Elena Monicelli (tbc) – Acting Director of Peace School Foundation of Monte Sole, Bolonia, Italy
Cultural manager and specialist in Peace Education, international collaboration human rights, and European Union Policies, author and researcher, member of an Executive Board of “SO-CLOSE Enhancing Social Cohesion through Sharing the Cultural Heritage of Forced Migrations” H2020 project.
Dominika Kasprowicz – Academic Researcher and Cultural Manager, PhD (Degree) in Political Science (2010), Associate Professor at the Jagiellonian University (Institute of Journalism, Media and Social Communication), holder of the European Diploma in Cultural Project Management, since 2016 Director of the Villa Decius, Poland – cultural institution, residency for artists and scholars at risk. Member of an Executive Board of “SO-CLOSE Enhancing Social Cohesion through Sharing the Cultural Heritage of Forced Migrations” H2020 project, member of the Interdisciplinary Team of OPEN KRAKOW Programme. Her research area includes cultural diplomacy and management, political communication, populism and social innovations in politics.
