Workshop “Protection of movable and immovable historical objects”

On behalf of the Villa Decius Institute of Culture, the Villa Decius Association, and the Naval Academy in Gdynia, members of the partnership in the project “Intersectoral challenges: specialist in the protection of cultural property in the event of a crisis and war – development of a postgraduate study program dedicated to employees working in border areas. – the Education Program financed under the EEA Financial Mechanism for 2014-2021, we invite you to participate in a series of workshops aimed at increasing the knowledge and competences of people related to work for monuments.

 

III in the series of workshops entitled: “Protection of movable and immovable historical objects”, which will be held on May 11 (Tuesday) at 10:00 on the Zoom platform. Preparatory and planning activities in the field of protection of movable and immovable monuments in a crisis situation and armed conflict (protection plans, fire safety instructions), as well as aspects of risk assessment and assessment of fire risk and other risks, will be discussed. An additional emphasis will be placed on the issue of active and passive protection of historic buildings, including anti-burglary and fire protection. We encourage participants to consider examples of workshop activities that will be consulted.

 

We invite, in particular, to participate in the workshops: employees of local and state administration, cultural institutions, administrators, administrators of historic buildings, representatives of church institutions, architects, students of faculties related to the above-mentioned subject matter, uniformed services.

 

People who have not participated in previous workshops have priority in the registration.

As part of 10 different workshops, we will invite people who want to expand their knowledge and acquire practical skills, including in topics such as security of historic buildings, protection of cultural goods under international humanitarian law and armed conflicts, crime against cultural goods, and related criminal liability, CIMIC and other uniformed services, and new technologies in the protection of cultural goods.

 

The project “Cross-sectoral challenges: specialist in the protection of cultural assets in the event of a crisis and war – developing a postgraduate program dedicated to employees working in the borderland” – benefits from the funding of EUR 183,000 received from Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway as part of the EEA funds. The aim of the project is to develop a new postgraduate course from scratch. The European Economic Area (EEA) funds are jointly financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, whose contributions are based on their GDP.

 

The funds for 2014-2021 amount to EUR 1.55 billion, and the priority areas for action in this period include innovation, social inclusion, culture, good governance as well as education and competitiveness.
