The dance world of Chopin

As a part of the next meeting within ‘Chopin’s heritage’ in Decius Villa, the newest project of the court ballet Cracovia Danza will be presented. The premiere play, being a part of a preperation for the Year of Fryderyk Chopin, is based on composer’s dance music. His compositions became an outline for dance-pantomimic show performed by dancers of a court ballet, staged by Roman Agnel and Artur Borkowski.

 

During the Sunday’s meeting the dancers will introduced the audience to the captivating atmosphere of courts and social gatherings of the 19th century, where various dance forms interlaced during balls and receptions. They will the audience with varied and rich compositions of Fryderyk Chopin. The dancers of the court ballet ‘Cracovia Danza’ will present solo and ballroom dances, which were fashionable in Warsaw, Vien and Paris at that period: Anglaise, Lancier, Quadrille and Waltz as well as Polish dances inspired by rustic and national themes.
