We encourage you to watch the first film in the “Condemned to Books” series. The main figure of the episode is István Szathmáry ‒ Hungarian journalist, graphic artist, and illustrator. He studied History and Communication at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Piliscsaba. Since 2011, he has been writing texts on the subject of culture for the “Magyar Nemzet” daily and the MNO news service. He was one of the finalists of the OTDK competition, which awards academic texts on philosophy and aesthetics. Szathmáry collaborated with writers such as Noémi Szécsi and János Lackfi. A humorous guide for the Hungarians written by Lackfi and illustrated with satirical comics by Szathmáry was one of the best-selling Hungarian books of 2013.
