“Condemned to Books” ‒ episode two

We encourage you to watch the first film in the “Condemned to Books” series. The central figure of this episode is Marcin Kalisz ‒ Polish actor, director, and acting coach and teacher. He studied at the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Krakow. Since 2008, he has been working at the Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre in Krakow.

 

 

 

 

He played in performances directed by: Jerzy Stuhr, Krzysztof Jasiński, Mikołaj Grabowski, Barbara Wysocka, Wojtek Klemm, Piotr Waligórski, and others. He is the originator and runs the TO_KONTAKT theatre workshops together with Dominika Borkowska. He worked as assistant to director Szymon Kaczmarek when producing the “Nasze Miasto” (Our City) play at the Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre in Krakow. He wrote the screenplay, produced, and directed a film étude entitled “Pokłosie stycznia” (The Aftermath of January), based on Marius Hulpe’s poems. In April 2014, a performance of “Dwoje na huśtawce” (Two on a Swing) directed by him premiered at the Ludowy Theatre in Krakow.
