Premiere of the 9th edition of RADAR at the Book Fair in Leipzig

Dramatic events in Ukraine drew attention to the Polish-Ukrainian-Belarusian programme, TRANZYT at the Book Fair in Leipzig (March 13 – 16, 2014), whose part was promotion of the literary magazine RADAR published by the Villa Decius Association. The programme of joint presentations of Polish, Ukrainian and Belarusian literature, culture, history, but also social and political phenomena has been implemented in Leipzig for three years.

This year’s third and last edition of TRANZYT confirmed the justness and far-sightedness of the authors of the idea and its executors; it also provided an opportunity to present authors whose texts will appear in the next, ninth issue of RADAR. The magazine was represented by the editor in chief, Renata Serednicka.

The newest issue of RADAR features an excellent essay by Przemysław Czapliński “Przekraczanie horroru” (“Exceeding Horror”), a fragment of popular reportage book by Angelika Kuźniak entitled “Papusza”, poems by Piotr Matywiecki, Jacek Dehnel, Olena Herasymyuk, Belarusian poet Maxim Tanka, Grigory Semenchuk, an interview with Elżbieta Wittlin-Lipton, the daughter of the author of “Sól ziemi”, Józef Wittlin, and multiple other texts of authors from Poland, Ukraine, Germany and Belarus. The graphic commentary is provided by photographs of Rostislav Shpuk documenting the events in Ukraine. The issue is available at the seat of the Villa Decius Association. Soon, it will also be possible to download it electronically from the website: www.e-radar.pl.

The ninth issue of RADAR is financed from the funds of the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation, Robert Bosch Foundation and Leipziger Buchmesse.
