Literary portraits by Elzbieta Lempp

The opening of Elzbieta Lempp’s photo exhibition entitled Literary Portraits will take place in the Villa Decius on Wednesday, May 16, 2013 at 5.00 pm. The Literary portraits photographs depict mainly faces and private creative spaces of artists, especially writers, and were taken as black and white shots from 1987 to 2012. Some artworks are presented both as traditional photographs and multimedia presentation and give an overview to Polish and foreign literary scene. 

 

Elzbieta Lempp has been photographing since the 1980’s. The main focus of her black and white photographs are portraits of artists, especially writers, and were presented in album Literary Landscapes. Photography 1985-2007 with afterword by Marek Bienczyk (2008). Her recent project “Art in the can. Resoc” is based on documentation of 14 study visits to penitentiaries (11 in Poland and 3 in Switzerland). She published in many international magazines and periodicals. She exhibits her artworks in Poland and abroad, and cooperates with literature and publishing houses, culture.pl Internet portal.
