Laurel for the Patron 2009

Laurel for the patron is a special occasion to thank all patrons, sponsors, partners, volunteers and friends for their support of the activities of the Association. Especially thanks to their benevolence and commitment the Villa Decius is developing and becoming more beautiful from year to year. It serves Krakow, Poland and Europe realizing the concepts of the renaissance – humanism and dialogue of cultures.

 

Guests of this exceptional evening at the Villa Decius were the Director of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs, the Marshal of the Voivodship Małopolska representatives of the State authorities, the diplomatic corps, the patronage media, partner institutions and sponsors. The Villa Decius Association was represented by professor Aleksander Koj – chairman of the board, dr Zbigniew Beiersdorf, doc. Krzysztof Görlich, prof. Emil Orzechowski, prof. Andrzej Pelczar, Zbigniew Jamka and Stefan Salomon – members of the board and Danuta Glondys – director of the Villa Decius Association.

 

This year Laurel for the Malopolska Region received Ms Elżbieta Mirga-Wojtowicz, Malopolska Governor Commissioner for National Minorities, for the City of Cracow- Wieslaw Starowicz, Deputy Mayor for Infrastructure, for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Ambassador Marcin Nawrot, Director of the Department of the United Nations and Human Rights .

 

During the ceremony Sponsors Villa Decius 2009 were distinguished: Kärcher Poland Sp. Ltd., Nawaratronik Ltd., Tomaszowice Manor -Company of Ziyad , FRB Maria Gruca, Edison SA and Geminus Maciej Nabiałek. Diplomas of Silver Sponsors Villa Decius 2009 recipients are: PZU SA, PZU Zycie SA, Auguri SA Zdzislaw Ingielewicz and Smart Practical Logic Sp. z.o.o. The title of Gold Sponsor were awarded the companies: BP Europa SE, Oddział w Polsce, on whose behalf a diploma and a statuette of Decius took Jerzy Brniak – President & CEO, Siemens Sp. z.o.o. (diploma received the Director Ewa Mikos- Romanowicz) and Ars Modi SC, represented at the gala by Mariusz Brągiel and Rafal Zielinski.

 

Diplomas with thanks “for a very successful and pleasant cooperation in 2009” were awarded to representatives of over one hundred and forty institutions cooperating with the Association in the past. Volunteers also highlighted the Villa Decius Association. Paulina Imiołek received diploma of the Volunteer of the Year. This year’s ceremony honored the recital by Jack Wójcicki. After that all guests were invited to the historic cellars of the Villa, where they waited for a delightful dinner prepared by the restaurant at Villa Decius.
