“Res publica reloaded” in Düsseldorf (7-10 April 2015)

Between the 7th and the 10th of April 2015, another meeting as part of the international “Res publica reloaded – European public spaces as a source of empowerment” project took place in Düsseldorf. The Villa Decius Association is one of the project’s partners. The aim of the initiative is to make an attempt at taking a look at the use of public art – broadly defined as street art – in the construction of institutionalised artistic strategies and new methods of education.

The programme of the visit in Düsseldorf included a tour of the Turkish district of Marxloh, a presentation of the Rhein Park Project, a visit to a skate park, and a review of local graffiti. The project’s participants also had the chance to talk to Klaus Klinger – street artist, representative of the Farbfieber group, and to Charlott Dahmen – coordinator of the interactive theatre project in Düsseldorf. For more information, please visit the project’s website at www.respublicareloaded.eu.
