The Villa Decius Association invites to a cycle of concerts entitled “Chopin’s Heritage”. This year’s edition of the project with a tradition of several years is especially promising with regard to Fryderyk Chopin’s upcoming 200th birthday. We are planning up to 12 concerts, to which we invited both popular pianists and those, who are beginning their artistic career. The numerous offers include piano recitals, open-air concerts in the gardens of the Villa Decius and a cycle of vocal concerts entitled “Fryderyk Chopin and the romantics”.
The inauguration concert “Fairytales and secrets” will be the first vocal concert of a small cycle with a performance of Katarzyna Słota-Marciniec (soprano) and Emilia Bernacka-Głowala (grand piano). The repertoire includes songs (Piosnka litewska, Smutna rzeka) and piano pieces (Preludium h-moll, Preludium A-dur, Preludium e-moll, Preludium c-moll) by Fryderyk Chopin as well as songs by Maria Szymanowska (Świtezianka), Stanisław Moniuszko (Magda Karczmarka, Dziad i baba), Modest Musorgski (from the cycle Songs and dances of death: Trepak) and Hugo Wolf (Elfenlied).
