The Genshagen Foundation, the Villa Decius Association, and Théâtre des Bernardines from Marseille would like to invite artists representing various fields of art (literature, music, theatre, the fine arts, and new media art) to submit their applications for participation in an art residency programme called “George Sand ‒ Frédéric Chopin”.

The programme is trilateral, the residency has three participating artists at the same time: one from Poland, one from Germany, and one from France. The scholarship includes an 8-week stay at the Genshagen Palace near Berlin (between the 22nd of June and the 15th of August 2015), organisational support, and artistic advice and consultations, and amounts to EUR 2,000. The residency programme was given the name of George Sand and Frédéric Chopin, who may be an example for contemporary artists ‒ an example of mutual inspiration and a constructive creative process, during which both artists created their works independently.

Thanks to its trilateral nature, the “George Sand ‒ Frédéric Chopin” residency programme is one of a kind. It offers the opportunity to conduct a cross-border art experiment to selected artists.

The deadline for entries is the 1st of February 2015 (date as postmarked).
