Baroque-contemporary Salon. We would like to invite you to the last 2018 session of The Polish Radio Choir musical salon in Villa Decius, 16 December, at 17:00
The birth of accompanied monody is considered to be a braking point in the history of music. It commences predominance of a word over the music and highlights a new aspect of vocal virtuosity. 410 years after the death of Gulio Caccini, one of the founders of Camerata Florentina and creators of theoretical treaties on “new music”, we would like to invite to a concert – a baroque-contemporary duet. The event features compositions by Caccini from the “Le Nuove Musiche” collection and the continuators stile rappresentativo: by Claudio Monteverdi, Alessandro Grandi and Heinrich Schütz. The concert ends with a modern composition by Andrzej Kwieciński: “Per non pensare”, that refers back directly to Baroque era.
The performing artists: Anna Zawisza – soprano, Anna Wiktoria Swoboda – the chitarrone, and Martyna Zakrzewska – the piano, Paulina Woś – the piano.
