Thursday’s evening in Villa Decius was the time of a ceremonial gala, an occasion to thank all of the Villa’s patrons, sponsors, partners, volunteers and friends for their support of the activities of the Association. Thanks to their benevolence and commitment, Villa Decius develops and becomes more beautiful with each year. It serves Krakow, Poland and Europe realizing the concepts of the Renaissance – humanism and dialogue between cultures.
The ceremony was honoured with the presence of government’s and local government’s representatives, diplomatic corps, patron media, partnership institutions and sponsors. The laurel for the Malopolska Voivodship Office was received personally by the Marshal Stanisław Kracik, for the Krakow Municipality by Magdalena Sroka, Deputy Mayor, and for the Malopolska Voivodship, the Deputy Marshal – Witold Latusek.
During the gala, Villa Decius Sponsors 2010 were awarded to: Kärcher Poland sp. z o.o., Nawratronik sp. j., Edison SA, Gemini Holdings sp. z. o.o., Danone sp. z o.o., Firma Ziyada, GH Net sp. z o.o. Diplomas for the Villa Decius Silver Sponsors 2009 were handed on to: PZU SA, PZU Życie SA and Smart Practical Logic Sp. z o.o.
The highest award, the title of Villa Decius Patron was given to The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, on behalf of which, Zina Jarmoszuk, the Director of The Department of State Patronage, received the statuette. Villa Decius Golden Sponsor title was awarded to BP Europa SE company, with its Polish branch in Krakow. The statuette was received by the Managing Director, Bogdan Kucharski.
Diplomas with thanks “for extremely successful and nice cooperation in the year 2010” were awarded to the representatives of more than 140 institutions, which cooperated with the Association in the last year. The Villa Decius Association volunteers were also rewarded, as the Diploma for 2010 Volunteer was given to Ewelina Panasiuk.
This years’ celebration was honoured with the ceremonial concert entitled “In the Waltz Rhythm” with the participation of Russian piano virtuoso, Aleksiej Komarow. After the concert, all guests were invited to the Villa’s historic basement, where an exquisite dinner, prepared by the Villa Decius Restaurant, awaited them.
